Benahavis House
The Benahavis House occupies a steep slope in Spain's Costa del Sol. Rather than letting the challenging terrain become a negative, Fran Silvestre Arquitectos used the topography as inspiration for the home's design. Its upper level cantilevers over the hillside, propped up by a perpendicular base. The main living spaces are housed in the rectangular volume with the bedrooms in the center and the communal areas around the perimeter. Full-height glazing flanks the structure to take advantage of the views to the north and south. The supporting element leads to the bottom of the property and opens out to a garden surrounding a sleek swimming pool.
