Hand made in New Zealand, this traditional butcher's tool was re-created for a specific job: splitting hanging animal carcasses in half. It's made from a single piece of 8670-grade high carbon steel which then undergoes a differential tempering process that results in a very hard, sharp, impact-resistant edge. The handle is built to last as well, made from black matte finished Micarta and riveted using solid copper pins that were hand peened. The animal-splitting monster is finished with a scabbard made from vegetable tanned hand-stitched Italian leather and is ready to meet your butchering needs or just serve as an intimidating display piece.

Based on models used in Bohemia and Bavaria over 300 years ago, the Peasant Knife is one of the most versatile tools you can buy. The knife features a Swedish high carbon steel blade that is hand ground with a water cooled stone to produce a convex razor edge that's great for cutting just about anything. Available with a black polypropylene or wood handle, the Peasant knife is strong, easy to use and maintain, and the exposed tang allows true one-handed operation.
