Although the Canto House contains 7,500 square feet of interior space, the home is really all about the exterior. Its heart lies just outside the ground floor where an expansive garden spreads across the plot. At the center, a sunken fire pit surrounded by a circular sitting area forms an outdoor lounge space. A brick lattice fence contains the area while still affording for views across the site's slope and to Mexico City and the mountains in the distance. Floor-to-ceiling glazing keep the outdoors and interior constantly connected. Once inside, black oak wood and brass fixtures create contemporary living spaces to admire the surrounding landscape.
