It's not always easy to blend the old and the new. The Carroll Gardens Townhouse does it masterfully. This four-story row house was converted from a three-family to single-family space in the process, with a den and office in the bottom, a living room and revamped kitchen on the main floor, a master on the third, and two kid's rooms at the top. Among the highlights are decidedly modern steel rear windows and a matching balcony and a completely restored staircase with that serves as a dramatic reminder of the home's heritage.
