Following the contours of the mountainous landscape, the Casa Alpina integrates itself into Brazil's rugged terrain. The dwelling is defined by a massive concrete slope that mimics the surrounding peaks. A glazed living area and two pillars prop up the steep roofline, giving the monolithic form a weightless appearance. From the inside, the floor-to-ceiling windows provide expansive views of both the towering range and the city of Belo Horizonte in the distance. When the doors are open, the interior seamlessly flows to an outdoor terrace that leads to a rooftop swimming pool.
