Casa Prebarco

Inspired by the bow of a ship, Casa Prebarco points toward vistas of the sea. The compact shelter is situated among the dense vegetation on the coast of Chile. Its exterior is formed by a series of dramatic angles, while a blackened timber facade helps the exterior fade into its surroundings. Internally, the main living areas are placed on the ground level and include a kitchen and lounge area flanked by walls of floor-to-ceiling windows. Sliding doors extend the interior out to a wooden terrace cantilevering over the steep hillside. Suspended above the ground, the master bedroom floats on the upper level. The room sits behind a sharp glazed point, directing the focus to views of the Pacific Ocean in the distance.
