Clyde Hill House

Sited on a lot that's exposed on three sides, Paul Michael Davis Architects were tasked with creating a home with an abundance of privacy and natural light. In return, they designed the Clyde Hill House. The studio gently sunk the dwelling into its sloping site creating a central courtyard. Topped with a sloping roof, a great room and master bedroom wrap directly around the lawn creating an L-shaped layout. Secondary rooms placed under a low-profile flat roof form an additional layer around the main living spaces, concealing both the interior and exterior spaces from view. Internally, a generous amount glazing that includes celestial windows, floor-to-ceiling glass walls, and a 40-foot skylight flood rooms with natural rays, establishing a bright, light-filled atmosphere throughout the interior.
