The Cote d'Armor Treehouse is equal parts modern and cozy with a subtle touch of whimsy. The vacation home is situated in a forest in France. Adapting to the terrain, the charred rectangular volumes sit on 26 steel stilts almost 10 feet of the ground. Weaving through the existing pine trees, the dwelling ensures no disruption was caused to the natural environment. Cutouts in the geometric form create a series of outdoor terraces to enjoy the scenery as well as a built-in hammock to take in the overhead views. The connection with nature is just as strong on the interior where the 904-square-feet of living space is generously fitted with large panels of glazing.
