Dallas Apartment

Rising 18 stories above the city, the Dallas Apartment occupies an entire floor of the Museum Tower building. The 8,870-square-foot dwelling utilizes its oval shape by placing its living spaces at its center and wrapping them in walls of floor-to-ceiling windows. While the interior is expansive, a network of corridors creates an intimate configuration of rooms as well as an open kitchen, dining, and living area. Exposed steel beams, terrazzo floors, and custom fixtures designed by Tom Kundig establish the interior's industrial atmosphere while warm walnut casework and the vibrant red bar hidden behind a hand-cranked, blackened steel wall offer a slight contrast to the shadowy palette. The aesthetic is complemented by an urban backdrop created by the envelope of extensive city views.
