Director House
Mahmoud Sherif complements the rugged coast of southern Iceland with the Director House. The brutalist abode rises from a rocky cliff overlooking Reynisfjara beach with its concrete shell becoming a part of the brooding landscape. Internally, the exposed cement creates a minimalist, cave-like backdrop for the living space while bright LED lights, creeping vines, and a sculpted copper staircase break up the monolithic palette.
