Dovecote Treehouse

Located in the Portuguese city of Braga, the Dovecote Treehouse gets its name from its previous life as a shelter for doves. The concrete form hovers above an existing stone wall that continues around the entirety of the structure, housing a washroom for the pool on the ground floor. Above, an open second story creates a playhouse for children, accessed by an exterior stone staircase. The small triangular window in the gable — where birds once flew in and out — now servers as a reminder of the building's former legacy.
