Eyrie Cabins
Set on an estuary roughly an hour north of Auckland, these Eyrie Cabins strike an ideal balance between ruggedness and modern design. The pair of cabins are roughly 30 square meters each, with sparse wooden interiors and charred black exteriors. They have no doors, instead relying on open windows and rocks as entryways, are completely off-grid, and autonomous, and have simple geometric forms that contrast nicely with the surrounding hills and waterways.
