Floris Hotel

Situated at the base of the Dolomites in South Tyrol, the Floris Hotel is a collection of modern treehouse suites for the Parc Hotel Florian. The gabled volumes are placed on ten-foot supports to limit the disruption to the land and stacked to create a two-story structure with five rooms on each level. Its front facade is painted green, with the remaining exterior is clad in weathered timber to blend in with the surrounding landscape. Inside, moody interiors are left open and feature a bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, and private sauna. Floor-to-ceiling glazing brings in views across the park and to the mountains in the distance while also expanding the living space to a sheltered balcony when open. An additional patio houses a hot tub for open-air soaks, and between each suite, a terrace is fitted with a hammock to lounge in the scenery.
