For those that grew up in late '70s and '80s, the graphic designs of NASA are some of the most memorable of the period, appearing on everything from hats to the Space Shuttle. This reprinting of the NASA Graphics Standards Manual celebrates this outstanding identity system, which was used from 1975 to 1992. Recreated for public use for the first time from the personal copies of the original designers, Richard Danne and Bruce Blackburn, it covers the logo, placement, color schemes, and other design standards that helped capture the imagination of a generation and make the American space agency a lasting, iconic part of our legacy of exploration. Included are scans of Danne's personal copy of the original manual, a forward from Danne, an essay by Christopher Bonanos, reproductions of the original NASA 35mm slide presentation, and scans of the 'Managers Guide', a follow up booklet distributed by NASA. Each copy is individually wrapped in a foil static shield, adding even more nostalgic rocket-age flair to this iconic design reference.

Born in 1933 as an instrument for AUTOmobiles and AIRplanes, TAG Heuer has evolved their now iconic dashboard timer once again into the Autavia Isograph Watch. The timepiece nods to the 1960s model with a rounded case, beveled lugs, and an interchangeable brown calfskin strap while an oversized crown echoes to its in-flight heritage. Although its exterior is familiar, its innovative interior is built for the modern adventurer featuring a chronometer-certified Calibre 5 automatic movement with a carbon-composite hairspring, making it immune to gravity and shock. Its 42mm case comes with a polished ceramic bezel and a smoky blue, black, or grey dial.

Combining time-honored techniques with modern materials, Weiss Watch Co. is the only watchmaker designing, engineering, and assembling nearly every function and detail of their watches in the United States. This re-imagined edition of their flagship Standard Issue Field Watch boasts a refined design that is thinner and better for daily wear. One solid piece of surgical grade stainless steel is machined and polished by hand to create the case, while sapphire crystals on the front and back add strength and display the precise mechanical movement. The in-house manual-wind movement is comprised of over 100 Swiss parts that are hand-finished and assembled in Los Angeles. The mechanical watch features a classic black dial with small-seconds complication and hands made of steel, finished with black oxide treatment and filled with lumed paint for increased legibility in low light conditions. And the dial and subdial are machined from a single piece of naval brass before being hand painted. The Field Watch is finished with a waterproof, leather-lined black canvas strap for a dial/strap combination that is exclusive to Uncrate. Each one is individually numbered and arrives in a custom-built California pine wood box that is built by hand in the USA. Unlike the normal made-to-order process of purchasing a Weiss timepiece, our limited release is available for immediate shipment.
Uncrate is an Authorized Dealer of Weiss Timepieces, extending the full Weiss Watch Company 2-year warranty.
