Situated on the edge of Lugano Lake in Switzerland, the Holiday Residence Refurbishment gives a 1950s lakefront retreat a minimalist refresh. The renovation maximizes available space with an open floor flan and expansive terrace. Full walls of glazing blur the boundaries between the inside and the neighboring waters while the incoming natural light gives the modest interior a spacious quality. A stone basement made from rock extracted from a cave located on the lake that no longer exists has been restored and adds to the home's natural palette of wood on the floor and walls.
