Invermay House

Raised up off the ground to provide an uninterrupted view of nearby Ballarat, the Invermay House by Moloney Architects is a strikingly simple home. It was built for a close-knit family of six, so an open floor plan was chosen to help promote connectedness, with a main living space on the ground floor, cantilevered out to help with the aforementioned view, a large deck, and operable skylights to allow ventilation in the summer. Outside, the various windows provide a hint at the internal arrangement of rooms, and the materials of timber and concrete block reflect the rugged landscape on which the structure sits.
