Despite a short run of time in the spotlight, James Dean is still one of the most recognizable actors of the past century. This photograph was taken during a break in filming for the film Giant in October, 1955 in Marfa, Texas. The movie was the last of Dean's three films as the lead man, and earned him an Academy Award nomination. Dean was killed in a tragic car accident before the film was released.
