Set in the heart of Istanbul, the Karakoy Loft by Ofist turns the typical bachelor's pad stereotype on its head. The two-bedroom apartment uses several signature ideas to unify the open space. On one wall, an iron rod storage system runs from the main floor to the master bedroom/loft area above, while the opposite wall is covered in natural stone. The front wall is covered in iroko wood, which is carried up and through the entire ceiling, breaking only for the skylight and main windows, which slide the length of the building to turn the living space into a balcony. Finally, the cast concrete surface of the kitchen counter was extended out to form the dining table and the base for the fireplace.
