Lachance House

Mixing rustic materials and modern design, the Lachance House reimagines the local architecture of Quebec's Eastern Townships. The exterior's contemporary form is clad in vertical wood planks, left unfinished to weather overtime like the native farm building of the area. This theme continues into the interior with the use of a polish field stone floor. The ground level — made up of an open kitchen, dining, and living area — is wrapped in sliding glass doors to frame in scenes lakeside landscape. These doors also open out to a covered terrace where views of the surrounding mountains can be admired.
