A former printing workshop in New York's NoHo neighborhood, the Lafayette Loft was stripped down to the bones to reveal its industrial roots. All of the internal walls were removed to make way for an open, four bedroom floor plan, while also exposing the existing cast-iron framework. To complement the structure's factory heritage, dark steel doors and trim were added, as well as a set of steel and glass pocket doors around the kitchen to allow the room to be closed off when desired. Features original to the space, like the strip maple floors and ceiling masonry vaults, were refinished to their previous condition to highlight the building's historic charm.
