The Loch Eight House is a gravity-defying design from Antony Gibbon. Inspired by traditional floating homes and villages, the stone and glass dwelling hovers over a glass lake. Its tranquil appearance is created by two, flat concrete planes resting on the surface of the water. Stone walls prop up the slabs while floor-to-ceiling glazing gives the structure a sense of weightlessness. Internally, rooms are organized in an L-shape where accents of wood, concrete, and immersive views of the natural surroundings through the translucent facade create a calming, minimalist atmosphere.
