Lofos Hill House

Taking cues from the natural landscape of Crete, the Lofos Hill House disappears into the coastal terrain. The home is situated at the foot of the Thrypti mountain on the island's east side. Its stone volumes are slightly burrowed into the foothills and clad in stone, while planted roofs further integrate the structure into the rugged environment. Internally, living spaces take the same natural approach with marble, wood, stone, and terrazzo finishes in neutral tones. Its aesthetic fuses Scandinavian minimalism with Japanese architecture to develop a clean, contemporary atmosphere accented by local materials and artisanal furnishings. Shaded verandas and a poolside terrace draw the focus to the outdoors, where views ranging from the mountains to the Mediterranean Sea are in abundance.
