Although it's located within Seattle's city limits, the Magnolia Courtyard House offers the same rugged views found in rural Washington. The home is organized around a central courtyard filled with alpine trees and wild grasses. Large windows integrate the landscape into the interior while hardwood-framed glazed doors slide open to create a seamless transition between the indoors and the exterior deck. A pair of board-form concrete volumes shield the garden retreat from neighbors and black panels provide privacy for the upper level. Internally, a palette of concrete, wood, and dark finishes mixes with modern furnishings to create a sleek, inviting atmosphere to take in the surrounding views.
