The Marathon GG-W-113 field watch was a utilitarian legend. And now, the company is bringing it back with this flawless re-interpretation of the original used by the U.S. Army in the 1980s. The watch features manually wound ETA 2801 movement — the same movement that powered the original and a significant upgrade from the quartz model. The movement sits beneath sapphire crystal glass for scratch resistance and durability. The dial also has an hour scale with military double rows, while each marker is illuminated by a green tritium tube, with a tube at 12 o'clock that glows orange. The hour and minute hands get the same treatment (as well as the tip of the second hand), providing you with plenty of light in the dark, even when they haven't been charged by sunlight. Made in Switzerland, each hand-winding timepiece is finished with a thick ballistic black NATO strap with a black Marathon branded tongue and buckle and arrive individually numbered.
