Midden Studio

Named after the stone wall on which it sits, the Midden Studio is an artist's retreat that offers an uncommon amount of inspiration. The zinc exterior is molded to resemble the rocks of the surrounding Scottish coast, and the cantilevered design allowed the architects, Studio Weave, to build a down-facing window into the sitting/working area. A series of three skylights on the opposite gabled roof allow in plenty of light, and the otherwise untouched birch ply interior allows the artist to focus on work — and nothing else.
