Settled in the forest of Finland, the MK5 House is equal parts family home and whimsical playground. Larch planks are the dominant material, used in both the exterior cladding and the internal flooring and custom furniture. Copper-lined windows have been carefully placed to avoid neighboring structures and instead frame in the wooded landscape. The minimalist design is full of playful touches. Some are more subtle like the pop of green in the kitchen, while the built-in hammock sitting above the main living area and the suspended trapeze are far more eccentric.
