Mount Macedon House

Placed on the side of its eponymous mountain in the Central Highlands region of Victoria, the Mount Macedon House builds upon the landscape, rather than adapting it to fit the home. The corten-clad portion of the building, necessary to meet brushfire screening codes, holds the three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Floor-to-ceiling glass encases the open kitchen and living room, with screening around the outside providing some privacy and letting in natural light without obscuring the views, best taken in from the rooftop deck.
