Built on a small incline, the Mount Shefford Rock House turns the natural landscape into part of its design. The home is anchored into the hillside by the ground floor on one end and balances on a foundation of stilts on the other, creating a carport in the void below. The upper level houses the main living area. In contrast to its black timber facade, white walls, laminate wood beams, and polished concrete floors provide a bright contemporary palette. Encased with full-height windows, this space lends itself to sweeping views of the surrounding forest.
