Sited on a gentle slope in the White River National Forest, the Old Pond House introduces Scandinavian simplicity to the rugged Aspen landscape. Its sleek exterior echoes the traditional cabins of Norway with a singular slanted roof that follows the natural topography of the land while weathered timber cladding is reminiscent of a classic mountain shelter. Internally, polished concrete, natural stone, and pale woods create a neutral palette to warm the minimalist aesthetic. Throughout the living spaces, large glazed panels punctuate the walls affording expansive views of the surrounding forest and mountains.
