Tucked neatly on the coast of Tasmania, the Otago Bay House is designed to take advantage of the dramatic scenery. The home is comprised of two stacked volumes slightly embedded in the terrain. The upper level is topped with a sweeping roof and positioned to afford views of Mount Wellington to the west and Mount Direction to the east. Bedrooms are located on the lower level, where large panes of glass unveil views of the water below. To complement the landscape, finishes include locally-sourced masonry, limed-oak ceiling, and polished concrete in soft, natural hues.
