Pine Cove House
As the pandemic continues, more people are looking to escape the city and find refuge in rural areas. Dezest Design responds to the demand with the Pine Cove House. Merging modern design and a serene setting, the concrete and glass dwelling is imagined inside a dense forest. It minimizes damage to the existing vegetation by placing the interior throughout a cluster of volumes that are integrated in to the natural landscape. Each one houses a different function with the main living space located in a double-height volume clad in windows. The transparent facade fills the room with natural light while enveloping it in views of the surrounding forest. As inhabitants transition into the bedroom, they travel through a glass gallery in the pine trees. The serene walk decompresses the mind and prepares it for a restful slumber.
