With a barn-like exterior, the Portola Valley Barn pays homage to its pastoral surroundings while offering a contemporary California retreat within its weathered walls. The structure sits away from the main house, supplying a separate office, home theater, and guest suite to the property. Each space is housed in its own timber-clad unit. The three wings are joined by darkened connectors containing a kitchen and a powder room. Internally, clean lines and a refined palette provide a modern contrast to the rolling landscapes showcased through the generous glazed openings.
