Located in the forest of China's Xianghu Lake Resort area, the Senbo Resort Park-Star Cube Hotel connects guests to both the forest and the stars. The retreat was imagined by the Design Institute of Landscape and Architecture China Academy of Art and is made from a series of shingled cabins. Following the topography of the land, the timber dwellings are staggered throughout a courtyard, blending into the surrounding bayberry trees with a wooden facade. Their interiors are divided among three tiers. Starting with the living area, stairs lead down to a middle layer housing a bathroom while a bedroom is on the lowest level. A large angled window frames in the verdant landscape as well as views of the celestial scenery above.
