Perched on a hillside above the Sonoma Wine Country, the Sunrise House is a contemporary cabin immersed in nature. Feldman Architecture designed the dwelling to complement an existing guest house with clean lines and a glass facade. Round steel columns support the corrugated metal roof while the addition of concrete to the side anchors the volume to its site. Inside, the floor-to-ceiling glazing envelopes the interior in its surroundings and connects living spaces to the gardens, orchards, and Mt. Saint Helena. A palette of bleached Douglas fir, concrete, and white Carrara marble creates a bright, minimal atmosphere that doesn't compete with the rugged views.
