The Houseboat

Overlooking Poole Harbour, the Houseboat takes inspiration from its nautical setting. The blackened timber structure is made from two staggered volumes, resembling an upturned boat. Resting below a concrete arch, the interior is made up of a series of open levels, connected by a concrete stairway. Timber planks line the walls and ceiling to create a warm contrast to the rigid frame. A glazed west-facing wall baths the interior with light while also exposing seaward views to every room in the home.
