Nestled on a mountainside in Switzerland, the Trin Cabin gives the traditional Swiss chalet a modern new facade. The structure upholds the classic silhouette with a gabled roof but is brought up to date by replacing the typical wood cladding with a smooth concrete finish. The material continues on the interior throughout the floors, ceilings, and walls. This cool grey palette is contrasted by warm wood accents found in a central stairwell. Glazed panels puncture the cement barrier, softening the space with natural light, while also affording views of the alpine landscape and valley below.
