Sited at the base of the Villarrica volcano, the Un Patio House is nestled in a dense forest. The dwelling is comprised of two volumes, each situated on a foundation of stilts to maintain the integrity of the existing landscape. Living spaces are located on the forest floor, while a glazed walkway connects to the bedrooms elevated in the canopies. A central void preserves a small area of the forest and creates a small internal courtyard. Encased in walls of windows, the central patio incorporates the forest into the interior and brings sunlight in through the thick vegetation.
