Propped up by a towering mountain top, Axis Mundi's XYZ House stands like a contemporary art piece in the middle of the Swiss Alps. The Corten steel-clad structure is formed by three perpendicular volumes acting as a bridge, a tower, and a horizontal living space. Each one is placed along one of the three Cartesian coordinates of x, y, and z, giving the dwelling its namesake as well as its unique design. Large glazed voids placed on the front facade afford surreal views over the valley below.
