The Walled Off Hotel

Banksy is famous for his social commentary. His latest statement arrives not through a piece of street art, but instead an actual business. The Walled Off Hotel sits just feet away from the wall that separates it — and the rest of Bethlehem — from the West Bank of Palestine. It currently has ten rooms, customized with artworks by Banksy, Sami Musa, and Dominique Petrin, and ranging from the barracks-like "Budget" to an ornate "Presidential" suite. The hotel bar is decorated with security cameras and slingshots, and should you need reminding of the point of the whole thing every room offers "views" of the wall just steps from the front door.

  • W Hotel Bank

Housed in the former Kas Bank building, the new W Hotel Bank is an intriguing place to spend the night in Amsterdam. The original design from 1908 gave the building vaults on the ground floor and basement, a huge hall on the first floor, and offices above. Thanks to a modern makeover from Office Winhov, the grand hall now serves as a restaurant, the vaults as a spa, and the upper floors house 66 guestrooms and suites that augment the accommodations across the street in the former Government Office for Transactions and Telephony.

Located within Catskill State Park roughly two and a half hours north of NYC, Scribner's Catskill Lodge is a rustic getaway with modern charm. Originally opened in 1966 and recently renovated, it offers 38 guest rooms and suites, all of which offer dark maple floors, custom furniture, and free wi-fi. Others offer lofted bedrooms, balconies, and fireplaces. The lodge is also home to several indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, as well as Prospect, a locally-focused restaurant and bar.
