Design Within Reach Airstream

Design Within Reach Airstream

Design Within Reach, seller of all things modern, has teamed up with Airstream and architect-designer Chris Deam to offer the Design Within Reach Airstream ($49,000; June 2007). The special edition travel trailer sports all the aluminum goodness of the iconic Airsream, with added elements by George Nelson (Ball Clock), Tom Dixon (Wire Coat Rack), Heller (Hellerware dishware) and Paul Smith striped upholstery (by Maharam). There'll never been a more stylish camper. Check out a pic of the inside.

  • Porsche Design Fearless 28 Yacht

Porsche Design has teamed up with high-end builder Fearless to create a new line of super sexy yachts. The first to be released from the new project is the Porsche Design Fearless 28 Yacht ($300,000). Hella expensive, yes, but the dead-sexy 28-footer is ready to haul some ass with a 525hp Viper powerplant and a top speed of more than 80 mph. Sure, it's basically a dream boat for most of us, but it's not a bad dream to have. [via]

  • Segway x2

Segway's x2 Personal Transporter ($5,500; Sept.) is a new all-terrain version of the ultra-geeky, two-wheeled machine. The x2 features cross-terrain tires, a wider track and higher ground clearance, and protective fenders with built-in lift handles. The transporter also offers Segways's new LeanSteer technology for turning and a new wireless InfoKey controller that turns on the x2 and acts as the speedometer, odometer, trip computer, battery gauge, and security system. The Segway x2 has a top speed of 12.5 mph and can travel up to 12 miles on a single charge of its lithium-ion batteries. The x2 will also come in three other specialized models — the x2 Golf, x2 Police, and x2 Adventure.
