Sony SXRD Projectors

Whether you're looking for a high-end or an affordable projector to serve as the base of your home theater, Sony's new lineup of SXRD projectors have you covered. Both the VPL-VW70 ($8,000; November) and the VPL-HW10 ($3,500; September) offer 1080p resolution, Bravia Engine 2 video signal processing, and 24p True Cinema technology, but the VW70 boasts 60,000:1 dynamic contrast, brightness of 800 ANSI lumens and an Anamorphic Zoom Mode for more advanced setups, while the HW10 features a 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and a brightness of 1,000 ANSI lumens for more standard applications.

  • Belkin FlyWire

Cables are your enemy. Your secret weapon is the Belkin FlyWire ($1,000). Operating in the open 5GHz band, this system wirelessly transmits high-definition 1080p video and audio around your house. This means that you can hang your HDTV on a wall and store your components (Blu-ray player, Wii, DirecTV receiver, etc.) out of sight in a closet or cabinet. The FlyWire offers 3 HDMI inputs, 2 Component inputs and 1 Composite input.

  • Epson Ensemble HD Home Cinema Systems

Forget those home-theater-in-a-box systems at your local big-box retailer: this is a real home theater in a box. Epson's new Ensemble Home Cinema Systems ($5,000 - $7,000) include everything you need for a real theater experience at home, including a 100-inch motorized screen, an Epson PowerLite 3LCD projector with either 720p or 1080p resolution, an Atlantic Technology speaker system with a 150-watt sub, an A/V controller with HDMI handling and an upconverting DVD player, and a universal remote. Popcorn not included. [via]
