The Inn at Sundance Resort

The forthcoming The Inn at Sundance Resort will add 63 rooms to the center of the famed skiing (and filmmaking) destination's base village as part of an expansion dubbed Act II set in motion by the 2020 sale of the resort and its surrounding terrain by actor Robert Redford to a new ownership group. Redford founded the resort and the nearby Sundance Film Festival, vowing to always "develop a little and preserve a lot," meaning there would never be a sprawling megaplex built on this section of Mount Timpanogos. Instead, Sundance Resort has been built steadily, preserving the natural beauty while accommodating year-round demand. The cozy, lodge-like Inn will be no exception. Spread across two buildings, designers promise neither will reach beyond the tallest nearby tree, retaining the 360-degree mountain views, which guests can take in from a wrap-around porch deck.
