1914 Cracker Jack Shoeless Joe Jackson Baseball Card
Shoeless Joe Jackson's MLB career only lasted 12 years, but he did make a hell of an impact. His .356 batting average is the fourth highest in league history, and he was a sound enough outfielder to regularly rank just outside the top 10 despite playing over 100 years ago. To many, he's the best player to be excluded from the Hall of Fame, thanks to his 1920 banishment for allegedly attempting to fix the World Series. Controversy aside, his cards, namely those from 1914, are highly sought after. Of those released that year, there's no card more coveted than the 1914 Cracker Jack Shoes Joe Jackson card, which, unlike other cards, wasn't packaged and mailed in packs, but stashed inside boxes of the popular snack. That means these are much rarer, and mint condition versions are... even rarer. Graded GOOD+ 2.5 by SGC, which is still a great grade for this item, it features Jackson in a batting stance, illustrated on a red background based on a photograph by the legendary Charles Conlon.
