A100 Sailing Yacht Concept

Sailing yachts have always traded space for performance. Side deck walkways run the length of the hull, eating into beam that could otherwise be interior, and for most of sailing's history, that's been accepted as unavoidable. The A100 concept from Van Geest Design and Rob Doyle Design takes an alternate approach. At 328 feet, the side decks are gone, freeing the main deck to stretch the full beam and deliver the interior volume of a comparably sized motor yacht. A full-beam owner's suite, salon, formal dining room, and cinema-library flow into an enclosed aft deck through panoramic windows. Above, a glass-wrapped space deck houses the bridge, a convertible lounge and wellness area, alfresco dining, and a sunpad deck. Guest cabins, a dive room, and storage for two large tenders complete the layout below. Power comes from a DynaRig system with two freestanding rotating masts, the same sail technology that made the Maltese Falcon legendary, paired with an onboard energy ecosystem that harvests wind and water underway.
