Airstream eStream All-Electric Camper
Towing puts a significant dent in an EVs range, making them the less-than-ideal choice for pulling a camper. Airstream is hoping to make EVs a better option with the eStream, a reinterpretation of its classic camper for the all-electric future. The eStream packs an 80kWh battery on board that feeds two motors providing 242 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque to the camper's wheels — taking some of the load off the EV and also allowing it to move remotely. On the roof are 900w of solar panels, powering the batteries and the eStream's suite of electric appliances, climate, entertainment, and lighting controls, allowing for an estimated two weeks of off-grid living.
