Al Capone's Patek Philippe Pocket Watch

Perhaps the most notorious gangster in American history, Al Capone was known for his crimes, his violence, and his style, which included tailored suits and jewelry, like this Patek Philippe pocket watch. The 42mm case is made from platinum, with an open face design revealing a well-aged dial with Breguet numerals, period-correct "long signature", and a missing minute hand. It's the backside that's most interesting, as it features 90 single-cut diamonds spelling out his initials, "AC", in an Art Deco design. Accompanied by a provenance paper from Witherell's Auction signed by Barbara Mae Capone, it will be sold during Sotheby's Important Watches auction in New York on June 10th.
