Amazon Project Kuiper Satellite Internet
It won't be the first Internet service based on low-Earth orbit satellites, but Amazon's Project Kuiper may turn out to be the best. The service will be supported by a constellation of satellites capable of delivering speeds up to 1 gigabit per second, depending on location and the dish. Speaking of the latter, three "terminals" will be available: a standard model that's roughly pizza box-sized and delivers speeds up to 400 Mbps, a more compact 7-inch model offering speeds up to 100 Mbps, and a 19" x 30" model that delivers maximum speeds to enterprise customers. While exact pricing has yet to be announced, the standard package is expected to sell for under $400, with the first satellites launching in early 2024 and customer service beginning later that year.
