Apple iOS 26
The software for the iPhone is getting its biggest update in years with iOS 26. It adopts Apple's new company-wide Liquid Glass design language, refreshing the entire interface. An updated lock screen will be the first change people will notice, and is joined by a redesigned Camera app with a simplified main interface, and more detailed controls available with a tap, AI-based, 3D-like Spatial Scenes in the Photos app, an improved CarPlay experience, and an all-new Games app. The core Phone app gains a unified view, combining calls, FaceTime calls, and messages, as well as a built-in call screening feature that answers calls from unknown numbers automatically, and a Hold Assist feature that stays connected while you wait. It adds live, on-device translation in the Messages, FaceTime, and Phone apps, an AutoMix feature for Apple Music that will beat-match and fade between songs for a DJ-like experience, and order tracking from Apple Wallet. Apple iOS 26 will be available this fall.
