Hotel AWA

Set on the shores of southern Chile's Llanquihue Lake, Hotel AWA completely immerses guests in the surrounding landscape. Each of their rooms features floor to ceiling glazing for morning views of the waterfront, as well as the neighboring Osorno Volcano. Outside, the black-sand beach leads to a private dock for kayaking and fishing, while those opting to stay dry can explore the 50-acre property. If simply relaxing is on the agenda, a sull-service spa inspired by the local elements — water, heat, wood, metal, and earth — is equipped with a semi-Olympic heated pool, sauna, hammam, and whirlpool.

  • Hotel Mono

Using a modern palette of black and white, the Hotel Mono turns six historicl shophouses into boutique accommodations in the heart of Singapore. Their 46 rooms continue the clean contemporary design found on the exterior facade, but also retain the building's architectural heritage. Accommodations range from singles to more spacious studios, featuring rain showers and custom King Koil beds. Conveniently located in Chinatown, the hotel is just a short walk from the Arts and Civic District, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, and some of the city's best restaurants, bars, shops, and cafes.

  • Lokal Hotel

Skipping the front desk at check-in used to be a VIP-level perk. At Philly's Lokal Hotel, it's the norm. Promising "invisible service" for all who stay in its six apartment-style suites, it uses automated codes instead of a traditional front desk, and in-room iPads to access amenities like food and grocery delivery. The rooms themselves have full kitchens, clawfoot tubs, and mid-century furnishings, which match well with the building's raw, industrial feel and the curated books and artwork.
