Tracksmith Running Gear

You can buy running gear nearly anywhere, from Walmart to Dicks. But good looking running gear? That's a whole different story. Tracksmith Running Gear aims to combine the practicality of high-quality athletic fabrics, with features like moisture wicking, resistance to abrasion, and multi-way stretching, with more traditional designs that wouldn't look out of place in a period piece. Based at the halfway point of the Boston Marathon, the company also tries to manufacture as much of their gear as possible in New England, so you can feel an extra bit of pride when you're slipping on your shorts or top.

  • Cotton Bureau T-Shirts

Making t-shirts is hard work — first you need a great design, then you need to learn how to screen print, and we haven't even gotten to the whole selling part. The good people at Cotton Bureau T-Shirts ($20) have taken the trouble out of making and selling a great shirt, letting designers focus on what they're good at — designing. The concept is simple. Designers submit a design and it has two weeks to generate 25 sales. If it does so, it gets sold — if not, it doesn't. The shirts are printed in limited runs, so the odds of one of your buddies showing up in the same one are pretty slim.

  • Flint and Tinder 10-Year Hoodie

Finding clothes that last isn't as easy a task as you'd think — while many brands are known for and even tout their quality, the liklihood of finding one that will back it up with a guarantee is slim. Unless, of course, you're talking about the Flint and Tinder 10-Year-Hoodie ($90). Crafted to last a lifetime, this super premium, American-made zip-up sweatshirt features reinforced stress seams for durability, heavyweight ribbing with Lycra, oversized pockets, a custom zipper pull, and a three-piece hood. Find it wearing down with age? As long as it's been less than ten years since you bought it, you can send it back to the company and they'll stitch/patch it up for you. If only every piece of clothing was like that — we're looking at you, pile of hole-ridden socks.
